I beg your forgiveness for the lack of blogs. Im in the process of finding the right medication mix for my RA and fibromyalgia so Ive been in a bit of a fog lately. Doing everyday mommy things has been filling my plate not leaving room for superfluous things like making coherent thoughts on my blog. But I did want to share this story before my brain threw it out. I apologize if its a bit choppy.
On Monday it was 15 degrees (including the windchill) when I took the kids to Dylan's bus stop. I put Ty's warmest pants on, his boots, a hat, and his warmest jacket and we headed out the door. We made it as far as the driveway when Ty decided hats are dumb. So he took off his hat and threw it on the ground. We were running late and I knew we were going to be outside less than five minutes so I just scooped his hat up and hearded him down the hill to the bus stop. We made it as far as the side walk (which was out of the protection of the house and car as windscreens) when he stopped, looked confused at the artic blast now nailing him, and immediatly came back to me and begged for his hat back. I gladly slipped it on and headed out into the freezing wind.
We were at the bus stop a whole three minutes when I realized that Ty was talking to himself
"owe, owe, owe, head, owe, ninger, owe, owe, owe...." So I scooped him up and unzipped my jacket and did my best to shove him into the shelter of my jacket and into my heat. His hands went straight for my armpits lol. He snuzzled his face close and last thing I heard that was distiguishable was "no owe, tatu mommy"
I wonder what it must be like to experience true cold for the first time. I know he has been chilly before, but I dont think he has ever really felt the bite of true cold. The fact that he used "owe" to explain his distress instead of the unintelligible babble he usually throws at me when he is chilly really struck me as interesting and really made me wish I could climb in his brain for a few minutes.
I also find it funny that Ty was so very obviously bothered by it, yet I practically had to sit on Dylan so that he would let me zip his jacket. lol
